  • Knowledge of Jesus is not enough. Jesus is Lord. If we know Jesus, He commands us to follow Him.
  • When Christ is enough for us, this truth is manifest to the people in our lives.
  • Once you encounter Jesus, neutral disinterest is not an option.
  • If you know who Jesus is and choose to follow Him, Jesus will send you to tell your story.
  • Our job is not to huddle around Jesus in comfort and isolation but to cling to Him as we go and share Jesus with others.
  • Jesus is not a campfire for Christians to huddle around. Jesus is a torch for Christians to carry into the darkness.
  • When we begin to go as Jesus sent us, our eyes will be opened to the work He is doing all around us.

  • The motivation of all Christians is Christ and His great love for us.
  • When Jesus' love motivates us, we live for Jesus and not ourselves.
  • When the love of Jesus captivates us, it changes what we live for. We live for the One who gave it all for us.
  • When Jesus' love motivates us, we see others the way Jesus sees them.
  • God wants us to see people the way He sees them: as people whose hearts He has the ability to change.
  • When Jesus' love motivates us, we do whatever it takes to help others see Jesus the way we see Him.
  • When you realize Jesus wasn't who you thought he was, it changes how you see everyone else too.
  • Some of us think God could never save us or change us. Some of us think that about others. Both are wrong.

Free Ebook Alert: Cold-Case Christianity by J. Warner Wallace

Just in time for Easter! Amazon is offering Cold-Case Christianity by J. Warner Wallace (Kindle edition) for free for a limited time. I can honestly say this is the best (and freshest) apologetic work I've read in the past year.

The similarities between J. Warner Wallace and Lee Strobel are strong (former atheists using their professional expertise to examine the claims of Christianity) but I dare to say I enjoyed Wallace's writing and approach even better than Strobel's. There just seems to be less of an agenda behind the writing of a cold-case homicide detective than that of an investigative reporter (at some point, Strobel's skepticism/objectivity just started to feel too manufactured ).

Get the Cold-Case Christianity ebook for free on Amazon! (3/10-11 only!)
"Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity."

  • Most "Christians" live for the same things that non-Christians do—themselves. A disciple cannot live a self-centered life.
  • Obedience requires continually coming to Jesus, carefully listening to his words, and intentionally taking the next step.
  • Every Christian should listen to Jesus' words with a bias towards acting on it.
  • You think you know the life you want, but only God knows the life you need.
