• God created a good world with a million yeses and only one no. 
• Before the fall, God created a good world of permission, not prohibition.
• The story of Genesis 3 and the fall is the story of a God who seeks us even when we are not seeking him.
• Since the fall, pain is not only a judgment and consequence but also a gift and blessing that drives us home. 
• God gives us pain in those very places where we are tempted to turn for our identity so that we will turn to him for it instead.
